Handheld live vocal microphones
The d:facto™ Vocal Microphone is engineered especially for vocal performances onstage. It captures electrifying stage acts and accurately replicates a singer's voice transparently, consistently and thrillingly. The mic is perfected for use in sound reinforcement as well as recording applications. It offers natural sound and high separation from nearby sound sources.
“We were struggling to find a vocal mic that wasn’t super colored and offered a really flat sound. The d:facto fixed all these issues and provided context and clarity.”
- Justin Chechile, Front of House for Lord Huron
The 2028 Vocal Microphone is designed for the unique challenges of live concerts and stage performances. It is a flexible handheld vocal mic, which provides transparent, fantastic vocals to performers from a wide range of markets including live, HoW, broadcast and more.
The 2028 needs no (or very little) EQ to sound just like you are standing next to the singer listening to their performance. This allows the singer to use their voice just as if no mic was present, which puts less strain on them. In addition, it allows sound engineers to spend their time shaping the sound experience rather than covering up issues due to artifacts. This amazing transparency is unique for DPA vocal mics.
“The 2028 is exactly what you would expect from a DPA microphone; transparent, uncolored, musical and reliable. The vocalists I put it in front of were all ready to take it on the road with them!”
- Alex Hawley, Recording Magazine

Floor standing mics for opera singers
Classically trained opera singers are used to using their voice to fill up the hall. These singers have an immense vocal range and can sing at extremely high SPL, which can cause distortion.
Additionally, the right amount of "air" between the singer and the microphone is essential to give it a classical sound, so close miking, which is also done for other music genres cannot be used here. Recording these singers in concert is often done using elegant floor-standing microphones, which have the correct audio quality as well as visual impact for the performance. To meet these specific needs, you should choose one of our floor stand microphones.
Available in either a cardioid or a supercardioid variant, these mics are our best solution for the highest-quality sound capture in both recording and live performance situations. Both variants are widely customizable; available in a range of boom lengths to meet any need.
