The 2028 Vocal Microphone is designed for the unique challenges of live concerts and stage performances. It is a flexible handheld vocal mic, which provides transparent, fantastic vocals to performers from a wide range of markets including live, HoW, broadcast and more.
The 2028 needs no (or very little) EQ to sound just like you are standing next to the singer listening to their performance. This allows the singer to use their voice just as if no mic was present, which puts less strain on them. In addition, it allows sound engineers to spend their time shaping the sound experience rather than covering up issues due to artifacts. This amazing transparency is unique for DPA vocal mics.

Floor standing mics for opera singers
Classically trained opera singers are used to using their voice to fill up the hall. These singers have an immense vocal range and can sing at extremely high SPL, which can cause distortion.
Additionally, the right amount of "air" between the singer and the microphone is essential to give it a classical sound, so close miking, which is also done for other music genres cannot be used here. Recording these singers in concert is often done using elegant floor-standing microphones, which have the correct audio quality as well as visual impact for the performance.
