All of our microphones are covered by warranty for a minimum of two years. Some of them come with a five-year warranty.

DPA Microphones A/S (“the Manufacturer”) hereby declares that all microphones produced and supplied by the Manufacturer are covered by a two-year warranty counting from the date of initial purchase from the Manufacturer, with the exception of microphones from the d:facto™ and pencil mic (recording) series (except 2006* and 2011*) series, which are covered by a five-year warranty. The five-year warranty is valid for microphones bought after Jan. 1, 2009.

The warranty is limited to the mechanical functionality of the microphones and such specifications as published by the Manufacturer. Regardless of an extended warranty period offered to distributors and suppliers, the warranty towards customers cannot exceed two years from the date of purchase by the customer. Under certain circumstances, the customer can be required to document the date of purchase. Your purchase invoice serves as your warranty registration. The invoice must state the date of purchase as well as name and serial number of the product.

The DPA warranty covers:

  • Only the microphone
  • Mechanical functionality
  • Documented specifications

The warranty is not applicable to:

a) Damage or loss caused by modification, alteration, repair by any unauthorized party
b) Damage or loss caused by mishandling by the customer or any unauthorized party having accessed the Product without authorization
c) Wear and tear not caused by recommended use
d) Damage or loss caused by events categorized as force majeure or any other sources beyond the control of the Manufacturer
e) Damage or loss caused by another device that is connected to the Product
f) Damage resulting from accidents, misuse, abuse, tampering or failure by the customer or an unauthorized party to follow normal operating procedures outlined in the user manual
g) General maintenance and servicing
h) Accessories supplied with the product
i) Minor faults or deviations in the quality of a product which do not affect the product’s value or fitness for its intended purpose

For this exemption section “unauthorized party” means any party not able to document that it was specifically authorized by the Manufacturer to perform the specific purpose. The warranty is void if the product serial number has been altered, tampered with or removed.

Service procedure

Matched stereo pairs that are sent in for repair are rematched. Surround-matched kits will be returned to the factory in Denmark to undergo a multi-match calibration.
